The Quick Way to Open Files with CIN Extension

Different software packages use different file extensions, so if you can't open the CIN file, it could be because:

  • You don't have the associated software on your computer (Cineon Bitmap, Digital Moving Picture Exchange Bitmap, and Cinetitler Digital Screen Subtitling are the most popular software packages that use CIN file).

  • You may have Cineon Bitmap, Digital Moving Picture Exchange Bitmap, or Cinetitler Digital Screen Subtitling but your computer is not configured to associate CIN files with the relevant software.

  • The file is corrupt.

If You Don't Have Cineon Bitmap, Digital Moving Picture Exchange Bitmap, or Cinetitler Digital Screen Subtitling Software Installed

In order to open your CIN file, you will have to download Cineon Bitmap, Digital Moving Picture Exchange Bitmap, Cinetitler Digital Screen Subtitling, or another similar software package.

If Your Computer is Not Configured to Open CIN Files

If you have the relevant software, but your computer still won't open the software, you will have to change the file associations on Windows or Mac. Depending on your operating system, you can ensure that your computer always open CIN files using Cineon Bitmap, Digital Moving Picture Exchange Bitmap, Cinetitler Digital Screen Subtitling, or another program of your choice that uses CIN files.

If that still doesn't work, you can get in touch with your software developer to find out what you can do. You can contact any of these developers for more information or assistance:

In some instances, you may receive an error message stating that the file is corrupt. If you have tried all of the above, and it still doesn't work, download or request a new copy to see if that works.

Open CIN File the Easy Way

If you don't want to download Cineon Bitmap, Digital Moving Picture Exchange Bitmap, or Cinetitler Digital Screen Subtitling (for whatever reason), and the other options also don't work... that's okay!

Even though some CIN files must be opened in a program for which it was developed (binary format), you may still be able to open it in a universal file viewer such as File Magic. Download File Magic now from the Microsoft Store and open your CIN file!
