The Quick Way to Open Files with J2K Extension

Different software packages use different file extensions, so if you can't open the J2K file, it could be because:

  • You don't have the associated software on your computer (JPEG-2000 JP2 File is the most popular software package that uses J2K file).

  • You may have JPEG-2000 JP2 File but your computer is not configured to associate J2K files with the relevant software.

  • The file is corrupt.


If You Don't Have JPEG-2000 JP2 File

In order to open your J2K file, you will have to download JPEG-2000 JP2 File or another similar software package.

If Your Computer is Not Configured to Open J2K Files

If you have the relevant software, but your computer still won't open the software, you will have to change the file associations on Windows or Mac. Depending on your operating system, you can ensure that your computer always open J2K files using JPEG-2000 JP2 File or another program of your choice that uses J2K files.

In some instances, you may receive an error message stating that the file is corrupt. If you have tried all of the above, and it still doesn't work, download or request a new copy to see if that works.
