Tips for Opening MCS Files

When you need to open MCS files, start by double-clicking it. Your computer will try to open it automatically. If that doesn’t work, try the following tips.

1. Download another program.

Different file extensions work with different programs, and it can be difficult to figure out which program opens which files. Here are a few programs that usually work with MCS files:

  • Unknown Apple II File
  • HalfLife MapCycle - Editor
  • MathCAD Format File
  • VirusScan TC Installation File
  • The Only Sheet [TOS] Data File
  • Mimics Project File

You can download one of these programs from the software developer’s website.

2. Look at the file type.

The file type can sometimes tell you which program might open the file. If you have MCS files, they are most likely types of Raster Image Files. A program that works with Raster Image Files should open MCS files.

Don’t know the file type? You can find it by right-clicking the file and selecting “Properties” or “More Info.” The file type will be listed under “Type of File” or “Kind”.

3. Check with the software developer.

Try contacting the developer of one of the programs mentioned above. They can help you figure out why your MCS file won’t open. Some of the most common developers are listed below.
