1. Download another program.

Different file extensions work with different programs, and it can be difficult to figure out which program opens which files. Here are a few programs that usually work with SPP files:

  • XSLT Designer Virtual Project
  • PhotoPlus Native Format File
  • Sprint Printer File
  • NMS-Edit Professional Project
  • Sealed PowerPoint Presentation
  • Scrapbook Factory Data File
  • SPSS Windows Production Mode Output

You can download one of these programs from the software developer’s website.

2. Look at the file type.

The file type can sometimes tell you which program might open the file. If you have SPP files, they are most likely types of Raster Image Files. A program that works with Raster Image Files should open SPP files.

Don’t know the file type? You can find it by right-clicking the file and selecting “Properties” or “More Info.” The file type will be listed under “Type of File” or “Kind”.

3. Check with the software developer.

Try contacting the developer of one of the programs mentioned above. They can help you figure out why your SPP file won’t open. Some of the most common developers are listed below.

Software Developer
XSLT Designer Virtual Project Altova
PhotoPlus Native Format File Serif
Sprint Printer File Windows Programmer
NMS-Edit Professional Project ITI-Innovative Technology Inc.
Sealed PowerPoint Presentation SealedMedia
Scrapbook Factory Data File Nova Development Corporation
SPSS Windows Production Mode Output SPSS Inc.

4. Install a universal file viewer.

Universal file viewers can open many different types of files, depending on the format. If your SPP file won’t open, try installing a universal file viewer like File Magic (Download). Some files aren’t compatible with universal file viewers. These files will only open in binary file format.
