The Quick Way to Open Files with HIR Extension

Different software packages use different file extensions, so if you can't open the HIR file, it could be because:

  • You don't have the associated software on your computer (Unknown Apple II File, Hidden Icon Resource, and C64 Hires Bitmap Graphic are the most popular software packages that use HIR file).

  • You may have Unknown Apple II File, Hidden Icon Resource, or C64 Hires Bitmap Graphic but your computer is not configured to associate HIR files with the relevant software.

  • The file is corrupt.

If Your Computer is Not Configured to Open HIR Files

If you have the relevant software, but your computer still won't open the software, you will have to change the file associations on Windows or Mac. Depending on your operating system, you can ensure that your computer always open HIR files using Unknown Apple II File, Hidden Icon Resource, C64 Hires Bitmap Graphic, or another program of your choice that uses HIR files.

If that still doesn't work, you can get in touch with your software developer to find out what you can do. You can contact any of these developers for more information or assistance:
